Mercedes-Benz, after years of industry speculation, introduced a new AMG® crossover at the 2014 NAIAS to compete with the other luxury brands on the market. Upon first glance, you may see the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG® as rather diminutive; however, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 355 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque will immediately remedy that misperception.
Utilizing AMG-specific suspension, which drops the height and makes the ride a little more firm, this aerodynamic structuring clearly distinguished the GLA45 AMG® from the standard GLA-class.
A large, lustrous Mercedes-Benz logo holds together the wide grille, and it serves as a perfect starting point for the GLA45 AMG’s aggressive look. The model brought out for display sported a distinct trim that underscored the muscular curves of the car’s body, hinting at the dormant power beneath the hood. Looking at this car makes your pedal foot twitch.
The interior offers reminders of the AMG-class with aluminum lining on the dash and stainless steel door sills. These features are in addition to the plush leather seats, safety design, and options that put Mercedes-Benz in its own class.
