Mercedes-Benz Taps the Animal Kingdom for Latest Commercials

Despite all of the sophisticated engineering that Mercedes-Benz employs for its vehicles, the message behind the technology is often conveyed best through the simplest strategies. The German automaker utilized animals in its recent commercials to advertise the MAGIC BODY CONTROL® and aerodynamic efficiency. The former will only initially be available in the staple S-Class; the latter introduces the CLA-Class by touting its drag coefficient.

MAGIC BODY CONTROL® is a superior suspension technology that adjusts ground clearance by up to 40 mm according to the vehicles load. Cameras installed at the same level of the interior rearview mirror analyze the oncoming road to accurately make adjustments, yielding the smoothest possible ride. Interestingly, chickens were chosen to illustrate how this technology works.

Drag coefficient, determined by body design and engineering, impacts how well an automobile passes through surrounding air. We certainly encourage you to conduct some research yourself, but, according to most sources, the average drag coefficient ranges between .27 and .33. The Mercedes-Benz CLA four-door (BlueEFFICIENCY) coupe boasts a .23 Cd, which makes for a significantly quieter cabin and more fuel-efficient vehicle.

In its commercial “Cats,” Mercedes-Benz demonstrated aero efficiency with a lounging feline:

With all of these technologies, and many more, it proves hard to resist the charm and elegance of a Mercedes-Benz.   If you have any questions or comments, you may contact us through comments@leithmail.com or stop down at Mercedes-Benz of Cary to speak with one of our great brand ambassadors.
